You think that you've studied each and every subject area thoroughly and memorized each and every term already? Well, you were wrong because now's the time for the most anxious and nerve-wracking event in the World Scholar's Cup, and probably one of the main highlights as well: Bowl.

Where one wrong answer could ruin everything for your team.

During my first year competing in WSC, I was so confused with how bowl worked (especially during regionals). But now's not the time to reminisce on how horrible I did during the Bahrain Regional Round back in 2018, and I'm here to tell you the things that I have learned through one year of WSC experience and from getting 6th place in Bowl during Regionals 2019 and 4th place in Regionals 2020.

Review, review, review, study, study, study

Is bowl hard? Yes, so you need to review the curriculum thoroughly and precisely. Do not fret, the questions for bowl and challenge are similar with how they're created. The WSC staff really likes to include pop and meme culture in both challenge and bowl, so try to be aware of both pop culture, as well as recent politics. I remember an instance during ToC 2019 where there was a question in bowl about a politician (I believe it was about Brexit, though I don't remember), and my teammates and I were absolutely confused.

Now's probably the time to divide the subject areas.

Nothing will happen to your team if you depend on only one person to answer all of the questions. Since you have studied all the subject areas, I would recommend for each team member to focus on 2 areas, while in this case only the theme overview is out so divide those 14 parts to smaller bits so you wouldn’t have to dread studying for everything the day before Bowl and Awarding Day. If one suddenly forgets a certain term or artist during bowl, then it wouldn't be much of a big problem since you studied the other parts of the curriculum as well.

Like challenge, make sure you understand each term thoroughly.

Self-explanatory, wsc questions are weird.

Even though you're tired from the Academics Day, don't forget to review before Bowl Day.

As soon as the Acads Day ends and we get back to our respective hotel rooms (during globals at least), all you probably wanna do is to sleep until the morning comes, but remember that Bowl is the area that provides the most points and this can be the chance where your team does better, so it is very important.

If you aren't sure of your answers, discuss them with your teammates.

Bowl needs a lot of teamwork and trust between team members, so try to make sure to explain to your teammates why this is the answer to the question; and if you're unsure, think of another logical reasoning you could use to answer the question.

Every. second. counts.
